Moyhu Primary School is about students, staff, families and the local community working co-operatively to develop positive attitudes, skills and the ability to meet life’s challenges confidently. We aim to meet the student needs by nurturing academic excellence and social competence in an environment that encourages organisation, confidence, resilience, persistence and an ability to get along. In 2010 the school had an enrolment of 66 students with 4.4 full-time teaching staff: 1 principal who taught 0.6; 0.2 French LOTE teacher, 2 x 0.5 teachers who delivered the Art program to Moyhu students and nine other small rural schools; 0.6 Business Manager and 2 x0.4 Educational Support Staff. Moyhu Primary School is located in a rural district 30 kilometres south of Wangaratta. Moyhu Primary School's performance over the last 5 years in all accountability measures has been consistently high and generally above State scores. The school derives value add from its active participation in The King Valley Cluster of schools. In 2010 a Cluster Committee was formed, with a focus on 'Keeping Kids in the Valley'. Cluster initiatives include the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen & Garden program, 'Farm stay' program, a range of sporting activities including Personal Best athletic sports, cultural days and professional learning initiatives including the use of data in Professional Learning Teams, to target teaching and learning in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT/Ultranet.
