St Richard's is a Catholic primary school in the Parish of St Peter Julian Eymard, Mooroolbark, Kilsyth and Montrose in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne with an enrolment of over 180 children. St Richard's strives to provide an atmosphere of caring support through the collaboration and mutual respect of children, teachers and parents. We achieve our mission of 'Growing together in Mind, Spirit and Body' with the support of an energetic and committed teaching, as well as learning support staff, who recognise the diversity of student ability and focus on Religious Education, English and mathematics and incorporate inquiry based learning strategies. We place an emphasis on values education, social justice and community awareness. Our classroom programs are enhanced and supported by specialist teachers, who teach designated programs in Library, Italian, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Reading Recovery. The staff and students utilise technology which enriches and supports class programs while leading to improved learning outcomes. The School enjoys strong community partnerships and parental support.
