At Geelong South the school motto, “Aim High” has guided the destiny of students, staff and members of the school community for over 80 years. At our school, everyone is encouraged to strive for personal best excellence in an atmosphere of confidence, enjoyment and participation. We respect the unique individual strengths, talents and needs of every child and offer a differentiated and student based learning environment. Our programs are designed to cater for diverse learning needs and include a variety of extension programs. An emphasis upon critical and analytic thinking strategies and a strong commitment to the integration of information and communication technologies provide exciting and flexible experiences to cater for individual learning needs. Strong home/school partnerships exist with a high level of parent participation evident in classrooms, committees, school council and community events. Geelong South Primary School offers around 300 students an attractive, safe and stimulating learning environment, with modern facilities and a very successful out of school hours care program. There are 15 teachers with 2 Principal class and 6 Educational Support staff. The local and wider community are an integral part of our learning community especially in the areas of the arts, sport and physical education, educational challenges and leadership opportunities. At Geelong South we believe that working and learning together as a community of learners supports the development of confident and capable young people who are prepared and ready for the next phases of their life.
