Learmonth Primary School is committed to providing a positive school culture where children are safe, supported, stimulated, independent and engaged in their learning and to the creation of a learning community where teachers, administrators, students and parents all enjoy the mutual respect and caring essential for growth and learning. Decision-making and actions are guided by the values of tolerance, empathy, fairness, respect, cooperation and friendliness. The school has 2.1 equivalent full time staff: one Principal class, one teacher and .1 Education Support staff. Our small, rural school has provided educational services for the district’s families for almost 150 years. While valuing the many advantages to the children of being part of a nurturing setting which promotes individual development, we balance this with a wider range of opportunities for social, sporting, cultural and academic growth through our work with other schools and community groups. In recent years, school facilites have been improved by the addition of a students' kitchen, community kitchenette, air conditioning, vegetable gardens, adventure playground equipment and external and internal painting. The school has a strong, supportive school council and maintains psoitive, proactive relationships with the wider community. In 2011, we are enjoying our ability to deliver an enhanced curriculum, taking advantage of the opportunities provided by new resources, renovated buildings and outdoor learning centres, the introduction of the Ultranet and a new ICT-rich music program.
