The school motto, “Big Enough for Opportunity, Small Enough to Care” very accurately sums up the shared vision held by all staff, parents and students in the Wurruk Primary School team. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent, well rounded education for all students enabling them to achieve their educational potential in a supportive and stimulating environment. This includes upholding a school ethos that caters for students with a wide range of abilities, interests and potential. Each child is encouraged to achieve to the very best of his/her ability. In addition, the values of ‘Supportiveness’, ‘Cohesiveness’, ‘Respect’ and ‘Enthusiasm’ are priorities at Wurruk P.S. The school services a broad cross-section of the Wurruk and wider Sale community along with outlying areas. Parents are very supportive and there is a healthy sense of belonging and being valued, all of which contribute to the advantages and special qualities that exist in the life of a small rural school. Wurruk PS sees its core purpose as providing a sound grounding in Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and Thinking Skills, as prescribed in the VELS, which will allow students to develop to their maximum potential through secondary education and beyond.
