Sunshine Christian School is a primary school of the Lutheran Church of Australia with a capped enrolment of 94 students. This means there is a small number of students in each year level which contributes to a high data variance in Naplan results. The curriculum, based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, is written and assessed from a Christian perspective with focus on diversity of languages, cultures, and abilities of the students. A unique features of the student population is the diverse cultures and backgrounds with over 20 different cultural groups being represented and most children speaking a languages other than English at home. The core values of the school are; Persistence, Organisation, Resilience, Getting along, Respect and Discipleship and these are imbedded across the learning experiences and explicitly taught through a resiliency program. The school's future teaching and learning plans reflect an active focus on lifting up the literacy and numeracy levels of all students. The school's mission is to 'Live as Children of the Light'.
