Brunswick Secondary College is a vibrant and aspiring school community. Our vision is to provide all students with a learning environment that promotes academic success, challenging and supporting each child to make or exceed expected progress .There is a clear focus on quality teaching and learning, high expectations of all students and purposeful feedback to and from students. Student learning indicators show a high proportion of students assessed as achieving at or above the standards expected for their year level. Victorian Certificate of Education results over the past four years reveal strong absolute and comparative performance. The College offers a traditional discipline-based curriculum complemented by a rich range of electives including Circus, Dance, Sports Leadership, Kendo, Puppet Making, Forensic Science, Kitchen Garden and Computer Art. There is a strong focus on student development and excellence, with students offered a wide range of enrichment and extension programs. Many of our students have excelled representing the school, state and country in a range of areas. The College's Music, Sport, Debating and Dance programs are highly successful. In 2011 and 2007, Brunswick SC won the Premier Division of the Rock Eisteddfod and in 2010, Vic Moves. At Brunswick Secondary College we have a strong focus on Work Practices. Evidence accumulated over a number of years tells us these are very strongly linked to successful learning outcomes for students. Students’ levels of achievement in Work Practices including their ability to work cooperatively and independently, seek and act on feedback and improve understanding through questions and discussion are reported in every subject from Year 7-12 four times a year.
