Vision 2007+: The College motto is ‘Confidence to Achieve’. In order to achieve this motto, the College has developed an agreed ‘Mission Statement’: ‘The ongoing development of a learning community of students, staff and parents committed to a culture of participation and excellence based on mutual respect. This College culture promotes personal growth leading to meaningful citizenship and successful pathways to further studies and employment through students’ academic success.’ Sunbury Downs College is a Y7-12 secondary school, situated on the western plains of Sunbury. Sunbury Downs College is not ethnically diverse, most are of Anglo origin, 0.019% of students speak a language other than English at home, 0.315% of students receive EMA. After years of enrolment decline at Y7, our College has experienced renewal and successive years of enrolment growth. Pre-conditions for school improvement have been established - building pride and achievement through high expectations. In 2008 an accelerated learning program was introduced. SDC is an academic school with a wide range of dynamic extracurricular programs. SDC is 'small enough to care, large enough to challenge'. SDC has 56 EFT staff, 1 Prin., 2 Assitant Principals, 5 Leading Teachers, 12 Expert Teacherss, 4 Accomplished Teacherss, 19 Graduates and 21 Education Support staff.
