Nulsen Primary School is a Government primary school located in the coastal town of Esperance, Western Australia. The purpose of our school is to develop in each student,the academic skills and knowledge, together with social and cultural awareness for effective, responsible citizenship and personal fulfilment. We endeavour to promote mutual respect, trust, dignity of the individual, honesty and integrity in all activities in order to develop the full potential of the school community. Our student population is 327. Our classes are composed of two Kindergartens, one Kindergarten/Pre-Primary, one Pre-Primary and ten Mainstream Year 1-7 classes. Our School is committed to an Inclusive approach to education and utilizes the Tribes process to create a safe and caring learning community. The school has a focus on literacy and numeracy,and places high emphasis on the development of students social and emotional well being. We have a highly professional and committed school staff. Their ongoing support of the students and each other creates a positive collaborative atmosphere. Nulsen Primary School receives some additional resourcing to support student achievement. The school employs, Literacy and Numeracy specialist teachers, education assistants, early childhood literacy support teacher, speech assistant, Indigenous tutorial assistant teacher, learning support coordinator, Aboriginal and Islander education officers and special needs assistances. In addition, we conduct PEAC programs, our students study Japanese in Years 3-7 and we employ Phys Ed Music and ICT specialist teachers. Our school engages with Dare to Lead, offers the Clontarf Football Academy and Little Yorgas programs. Our Aboriginal education staff conduct homework classes and a 0-3 playgroup. The school operates a Breakfast Club and employees a Youth Support Worker to support our families. Nulsen Primary school values the input from our parent body.
