St Margaret's Primary School, East Geelong, has a rich and proud tradition dating back to 1949; it operated under the care of the Mercy Sisters until 1995. St Margaret's values the strong and supportive relationship it enjoys with its parent community and broader parish, St Mary of the Angels, Geelong. We aim to integrate faith and life by offering a balanced educational program based on 'To Know, Worship and Love' and the VELS, with a strong focus on inquiry learning and ICT. Individual students needs are well catered for through programs such as Reading Recovery, and support teachers providing additional assistance throughout the school in literacy and numeracy. Specialist programs offered include Italian, Physical Education, Library, and Visual and Performing Arts. Our school motto of 'be safe, be happy, learn well' reflects our commitment to student wellbeing and this is further evidenced through the employment of a school counsellor. Additional programs combine to provide many opportunities for our students to engage in a variety of experiences, includin a swimming program' bike education, inter-school sports, buddy program and cross-age tutoring and a camping program.
