Hawthorndene Primary School is located in the picturesque Adelaide foothills where we adopt the values of 'care, learning and confidence'. We have an abundance of land, native vegetation and facilities which give our students a variety of opportunities for learning, both inside and outside the classroom. Our school is an accredited International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program school and works collaboratively with all Mitcham Hills College schools. Further, we have a strong community focus and encourage parent participation. Specialist programs include: performing arts, choirs, plays, instrumental music, band practice and our annual 'New Zealand choir exchange' program with South Hornby School in Christchurch. Our school also has a strong teaching focus on literacy, numeracy, science and e-learning. Student and staff wellbeing is supported by our commitment to regular PE, 'Our kids eat fresh' program, restorative justice, kids' hope, drug strategy and the work of our Christian Pastoral Support Workers.
