At Rockville State School the education of individual students in a supportive small school environment is emphasised. Our Prep to Year 7 curriculum integrates the Essential Learnings of the Key Learning Areas and is augmented with: Extension Programs (eg Science, Technology, Drama, Indigenous Studies and Art); Early Intervention Strategies and Special Needs Support. Knowing and understanding each student in order to develop strategies to remediate or extend their learning in supportive and caring classrooms is an important part of our school. We track individual student progress and our classroom teaching programs are balanced and innovative with a strong emphasis on the teaching of the basics in Literacy and Numeracy. An excellent pastoral care program with the emphasis on the whole child is also a feature of our school and we draw on parent support and community partnerships to provide a rich learning environment. Our school's rules (Respect, Responsibility and Safety) are explicitly taught as part of our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program.
