St James the Apostle Primary School is a large Catholic school in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Situated in a fast growing area, the school has an enrolment fast approaching 700 students. A new school will open in St James Parish in 2012 to cater for the growing needs of the community. St James school community is Christ-centred and encourages all to learn with strength and in gentleness. We aim to build a community based on openness, equality, respect, trust and a sense of belonging. The faith development, pastoral care and well-being of all in our community is one of our strengths in living out our vision. Our school has an excellent curriculum, continuing to build on contemporary approaches to learning and teaching, modern facilities and a dedicated and caring staff. A contemporary designed learning facility, multi-purpose hall and a new resource centre are recent additions to our school facilities and we have extensive play equipment and recreation space for our children to enjoy. Our school has a great community feel and close links with St James Parish.
