Loch Primary School is a small, rural school in South Gippsland with an average enrolment of 60 students. The school had 5 equivalent full-time staff in 2010: 1 Principal class, 4 teachers and 2 Education Support staff. Our school has a long tradition of successfully preparing students for secondary school and future employment. This includes the development of leadership skills through Co-operative Learning Groups and Peer Mediation training. An integrated curriculum, enhanced through extensive use of ICT and introduction of the Ultranet, provides students with a breadth of skills and knowledge. We are proud of our record that demonstrates our students achieve high levels of success in their learning. New teaching spaces, provided through the Commonwealth Government's BER program, greatly enhance the Developmental Curriculum implemented in the junior school during 2010. Children have access to exciting extra-curricular activities with a very successful “Active After-School Program”, camping program, extensive sport options and art program. Strong parent involvement on School Council and an active Parents & Friends group contributes to the success of Loch Primary School.
