Bankstown West Public School provides an environment and atmosphere promoting each childs intellectual, physical, emotional and social well being, thus instilling the enthusiasm to come to school and to learn. The school achieves its mission through Quality Teaching and special programs and initiatives such as PSP funding of $32,000 focussed on early intervention in Literacy and Numeracy, Literacy On Track, Community of Schools Program in Assessment and Quality Teaching. Also, we provide Speech Pathology, IWBs, Reading Recovery, English as a Second Language [ESL] focusing on computer literacy, Community Languages in Vietnamese and Arabic, Connected Classroom, Playgroup, Visual Arts program with professional community links, six week Kinder Orientation and Transition program and an Active After School Community Sports program. We are further supported by our Volunteer Parent Tutors Program, Before and After School Care program and TAFE Outreach English Adult Computer Education Program. The school focuses on delivering the highest standard of education to the students from 19 different cultures, resulting in emphasis on values, community education and participation programs.
