Blackwater State School's mission statement is: 'To Provide Quality Learning which Equips Children to Fulfil their Potential' and our school motto is 'Strive to Achieve'. Blackwater State School operates with a whole school approach to behaviour and curriculum delivery. All staff have a strong commitment to explicit teaching and moderation. Specialist teachers work closely with the teaching staff to achieve year level expectations. There are a number of opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities. These are: school musicals, instrumental music, Girl's Life, Maths Team Challenge and the Western Drummers. The school is currently involved in a Literacy Leadership project. This project enables the Blackwater Cluster of Schools to continue the work that was achieved while the cluster was identified as a centre of excellence. Blackwater State School is a safe and supportive school, which is due to a code of conduct based around the following four values - Respect, Responsibility, Effort and Safety.
