Our college is a Year 7-10 college and one of the Bendigo Education Plan schools which is being totally rebuilt. New Phase One facilities were in operation from Term 4, 2009, with further access to some Phase Two buildlings in Term 4, 2010. The whole school will be completed by mid year 2011. The 2010 enrolment was 583 with an expected increased enrolment over time to 800. There are 42 Koorie students supported through the Wannik Strategy and a Wannik Dance Academy for indigenous girls. The college provides a friendly and caring environment that engages all students in their learning, and supports them to achieve their personal best. To improve literacy and numeracy the college has coaches working with teachers and tutoring is provided for students who need extra help. National Partnership funding has been used to develop teacher capacity and support student engagement. The implementation of a Restorative Practices approach, Teacher Advisory and Learning Neighbourhood model have enhanced student relationships. Year 7 students in 2010 had their own personal netbook computers and the college will implement a personal netbook program for all students in 2011. There are 55 equivalent full time staff, 2 Principal staff and 11.6 Education Support Staff. Instrumental Music and Energy Breakthrough are two of the many special programs on offer. A comprehensive VELS curriculum with VCE and VET options is provided.
