Casterton Secondary College is committed to providing its students with excellence in education while growing and maintaining positive partnerships between the school and the wider community. The College’s priority is to provide a rich and challenging curriculum at all year levels supported by purposeful teaching, informed assessment processes, broad student participation in a range of academic and extra curricular activities, strong computer literacy and an awareness of the importance of vocational pathway planning and preparation. We actively encourage students to become life long leaners. Facilities such as the school farm and technology wing provide opportunities for students to pursue practical and technology subjects and form part of the wide range of curricula offered by the College. The college was successful with a submission for a Trade Training Centre to support the teaching of Certificate courses in Automotive, Agriculture, Construction and Furniture Making.The construction of the Casterton and District Trade Training Centre will begin in 2011 and when operational will enable studentsand the wider community to use state of the art facilities. The College currently has 22.8 teaching staff: 2 principal class, 20.8 teachers and 12 education support staff. Casterton Secondary College currently has 214 students, offering each student educational and careers based opportunities in a small and caring school setting. Primary School enrolments suggest future enrolments will fluctuate.
