The Islamic College of South Australia offers classes from Kindergarten to Year 12. To prepare our students for a bright future, we make sure that they are exposed to a broad academic curriculum, which encourages them to develop their intellectual potential. Our curriculum is based on the SA Curriculum Framework and we have received excellent feedback on it from the Non-Government School Board. Teachers are now preparing for the incoming National Curriculum. All teachers are involved in continual professional development in all learning areas. We teach students a wide range of skills, which they will be able to use throughout their lives. From Reception onwards students learn how to use a range of technology including the internet. Highly qualified teachers give students every chance to achieve their personal best. The Islamic College offers an excellent academic education in an Australian/Islamic context empowering students to follow academic career pathways. It has a strong literacy and numeracy focus. We offer comprehensive support for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. We teach an Arabic language and an Islamic and Quranic Education Program in a friendly environment that encourages love for Allah. We encourage co-curricular activities that encourage our students to develop into emotionally mature and socially responsible human beings including mixing with students from other schools and facing challenges that go beyond their comfort zone. Our students have regular Physical Education lessons and participate in sports competitions. All students are encouraged to be involved in giving back to the community both locally and globally. Our strong Values Education Program aims to support the well-being of all students with a focus on 'The Nine Values for Australian Schools', Program Achieve Keys to Success (Getting-along, Confidence, Persistence, Organisation and Resilience), and Friendly Schools and Families Program. Our college also has a Student Values Team that represents student voice and democracy.
