Ridgehaven Primary School is committed to providing a positive, secure and stimulating environment for its students. Our curriculum focuses on individual needs and addresses the eight areas of study, namely English, mathematics, science, technology, society and environment, health, the arts. Staff use the South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountability Framework (SACSA) to plan, program and report. Music, Japanese and PE are specialist areas providing Non Instructional Time (NIT) for teachers. Interactive whiteboards have been installed in 6 classrooms, the resource centre and our Japanese room.Student Review Team allocates available resources to children identified as requiring special assistance including early intervention. Resources include teacher time, school services officer (SSO) time and volunteer assistance. Individual learning plans are documented and reviewed for all students receiving extra support. Sporting activities include participation in SAPSASA swimming, netball, football, athletics and cross-country. Out of school hour teams currently include football, basketball, netball & indoor soccer.
