Torquay College has strong community values, supporting 1020 students in a safe and stimulating learning environment that builds sound Numeracy and Literacy skills. We have equivalent fulltime staff, 4 Principal class, 70 teachers and 33 educational support staff. The student managed cafe, chicken house, edible gardens, aviary, wetlands and ‘Biodiversity Zoo Classroom’ are key elements of our College’s Food Technology, Science and innovative Sustainable Education programs. Integrated curriculum, empowers students to make choices that promote a more sustainable world. Recording and art studios, rehearsal and film editing rooms, together with highly motivated staff provide opportunities in the performing arts, ranging from rock bands to theatrical performances. The outstanding Visual Arts program is highly regarded by the staff, students and wider community. Inquiry based learning is enhanced by excellent ICT and netbook programs. Torquay College has a reputation for innovation and developing links with the whole community both locally and internationally through LOTE-Indonesian,student/staff travel and short term exchange.
