Hamilton North Primary School is situated in a semi rural setting on the outskirts of Hamilton. The classrooms and buildings are in a garden setting with extensive grounds that provide attractive areas for active and passive play. Our school's enrolment has steadily increased to 235 students, with a staff of 15.3, including Principal, classroom teachers and specialist teachers for Art, Music and Physical Education. The school also has 4.6 Education Support staff including Administration Officers and Integration Aides. Our curriculum has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, with the content and delivery of learning programs designed to include direct instruction, individual and group learning tasks. Staff work together in planning and developing a continuous focus on improved student literacy and numeracy learning outcomes. Classroom teaching is explicit and focussed upon continuous formal attentions to improvement in student learning. The content and delivery of learning programs is designed to cater for individual learning needs and to engage students to achieve their personal best. Our goal is to provide a caring and respectful environment built upon strong student,teacher,parent relationships. Restorative Practices, which is based upon building relationships, has been successfully embedded across our whole school, creating calm classrooms and a playground in which students learn and play.
