Cohuna Consolidated School's purpose is to provide high quality, challenging and progressive education. The school is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education that caters for their academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural development. The school is staffed by 2 Principal class officers, 10.6 teaching staff and 2 ES staff. There is a strong academic focus on Literacy and Numeracy while providing quality learning programs in all other curriculum areas including Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), LOTE, Music and Physical Education. Many extra curricula activities are provided for students including sporting events, camps and excursions, spelling competitions, public speaking and a whole school swimming program. There is a strong partnership between parents and staff, with a high level of parent participation on school council and an increased involvement of student leadership throughout the school. The schools unique design lends itself to open classroom learning and co-operative student/staff interaction. The interior of the school was recently repainted throughout as part of the BER funding. Cohuna Consolidated School offers its 208 students a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment where the values of respect, honesty, trust, integrity, responsibility and success are promoted. Throughout 2011 our school is involved in the 'Rewarding Teaching Excellence' program - school rewards.
