Sunshine Heights Primary School was established in 1956 and is located in the Western Suburbs of Victoria. Our school is a P-6 school of 296 students from 46 different cultural backgrounds. The school is focused on delivering programs that cater for individual differences where all students learn and achieve personal growth to equip them with the skills to respond to the challenges of a technological world. The school has the equivalent of 27.7 staff members, 2 Principal Class, 23 teachers and 5.8 ES staff. The school is part of the Deer Park/Sunshine Network and has been selected to receive additional funds during 2010 and 2011 to further improve the school’s Literacy results. According to the 2010 Government School Performance Summary Report, the school’s results in Student Learning – Reading, are above standard compared to schools with a similar Student Family Occupation Index. In 2010 the school received funds to build a Multipurpose Room - Gym, Music Room, Art/Craft Room and Canteen. In 2011 we will be in the second year of our School Strategic Plan.
