St Joseph's School, Wonthaggi, is situated in South Gippsland on the Bass Coast. The school has and enrolment of approximately 280 students, and services Catholic families from within Wonthaggi and surrounding areas. The school was first opened in 1911 by two intrepid Sisters of St Joseph and the school maintains a strong commitment to the Josephite tradition. The school continually seeks parental involvement at all levels of school life. It is our aim to always promote a quality educational environment that meets the complete needs of all children. The current buildings were constructed in 1980 and have since been refurbished, with each level having an open plan structure. We have dynamic learning areas where children can move freely between teaching areas and the floor plan of the room is flexible and ever-changing. The school provides varied opportunities for its students including specialist music, physical education, Italian and ICT lessons. The school provides an intervention program for students from Prep to Year 6, and has developed strong programs for students with special needs.
