St Ita's Catholic Primary School is located in Drouin, 140 km east of Melbourne. Supported by the Drouin Catholic community to assist parents in the education and formation of strong Christian values, we aim to provide an environment where children feel good about themselves and achieve to the best of their ability. The staff are dedicated professionals who are committed to instilling the message that learning is a life-long process. Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of all students whilst encouraging each to develop towards his or her full potential. We welcome parents into our learning community, and value their significant contribution to the education of their children. We promote open and honest communication, and provide development opportunities for parents. Our classrooms are modern and appealing, and we have a well-resourced ICT program that runs through all curriculum areas. We have trained literacy and numeracy intervention teachers and aides to assist children who struggle in these crucial areas. We offer Reading Recovery in Year 1, Rainbows Reading (reading intervention) in Years 2-6 and we are an EMU (mathematics intervention) pilot school.
