St Thomas' is a co-educational Catholic primary school which draws students from the suburbs of Willoughby, Artarmon, Northbridge, Chatswood, Roseville, Naremburn, Middle Cove and Castlecrag. There is a close partnership with the parish and it is often said that the school community has a warm, village 'feel' with an accompanying sense of welcome and belonging. The school mission is to create a place where values of hope, justice, compassion, integrity, service and dignity are integral to our faith, culture and teaching. St Thomas' offers a challenging primary curriculum which responds to the individual learning needs of students. In addition to mandatory curriculum, there is a special place for Religious Education. Support and enrichment programs include learning support for children experiencing difficulties; an annual festival of public speaking, school band, school choir, chess club, sports club, recorder group mad science club, gymnastics, and debating. In 2010 St Thomas Year 5 Debating Team won the Independent Schools Debating Association Primary B Dot Kellett Memorial Shield, competing mostly against Year 6 students. Teachers are supported by specialists in a number of curriculum areas including Special Education, Physical Education, Library, and Music.
