Birmingham Primary is committed to continous improvement for all our students. Our goal is to move our school from a good school to a great school, through personalised learning and consistently high quality teaching in all of our classrooms. Our impressive levels of student achievement are reflected in our academic outcomes and Student and Parent Opinion Surveys. Our major focuses are Literacy, Numeracy, and Science. Our Science program fully engages students in their learning and is Literacy based with a strong focus on non-fiction writing. All of our teachers participate in a coaching program and continuously undertake careful monitoring of individual student progress, to ensure that the needs of all students are met. We are committed to the integration of ICT across all learning areas by providing students with the latest technology and by ensuring that children are engaged with rich authentic learning tasks. Our school is a large primary school (610 students) in a natural bushland setting. We have 34 full time staff, 3 Principal Class staff, 34 teachers and 12 Education Support Staff. The school has a genuine community feel, as evidenced by the support and commitment of our parents and our teachers. We provide a wide range of extra curricular experiences including aerobics, skipping and juggling and have a significant commitment to sustainability.
