St Paul’s Primary School is located in the town of Gracemere which is ten kilometres west of the city of Rockhampton. The school was established in 1988 by Bishop Bernard Wallace to service a rapidly growing community. The school population began with an enrolment of thirty-seven students. Since then, St Paul’s School has expanded its programmes and facilities to cater for its current population of 292 students in 2011. The increase in school population reflects the continued increased growth in Gracemere and the surrounding area. St Paul’s is a part of the Catholic Education family within the Diocese of Rockhampton. As a catholic school, we are an integral part of the Church’s mission to proclaim the gospel. As members of the St Paul’s school community, through our words and actions, we strive to give witness to the defining features of a catholic school. These features are: to give witness to the message of Jesus and the mission of the Church, have a clear catholic identity, be open and accessible to all who seek our values, offer a relevant and holistic curriculum of quality teaching and learning, be a community of care and to develop inclusive partnerships within a community of faith. The school motto of “Living, Loving, Learning” reflects our school vision that “we endeavour to create an inclusive, compassionate environment in which we live, love and learn”. Our mission is to be a community that witnesses to the value of Christ by respecting and nurturing each person’s talents. St Paul’s School values community, excellence and opportunity. We strive to be a welcoming community, building positive partnerships with students, families, staff members and the wider community. We encourage our students to do their best and utilise all opportunities to engage in activities across the curriculum.
