The One Mile State School vision 'Discover the Gold Within' supports our school mission statement to achieve the best possible learning outcomes for every student. One Mile State School has been serving the Gympie community since 1869 and therefore has a longstanding and proud history within our local area. The school curriculum is organised into the eight Key Learning areas and has been established using the Essential Learnings. Literacy and Numeracy teaching underpins each of the Key Learning Areas. An Extension Program, Early Intervention Strategies, Literacy blocks, Learning Support and Special Needs support and enhance the quality of the curriculum program offered at One Mile State School and cater for individual differences. Children have opportunities to participate in a range of extra curricula activities including Instrumental Music, Choirs and Sporting Teams. Our chaplain provides mentoring support to our school community and works in alignment with our school Virtues program. One Mile State School prides itself on the collaborative working relationships fostered amongst parents, staff and students.
