St Mary's College is a Catholic Boys' School centrally located in Toowoomba, a city 132km west of Queensland's capital city, Brisbane. Established in 1899 by the Christian Brothers under the direction of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba, the College is a day school for boys from years 5 to 12. The current enrolment of the College is 657 students, with 147 in the Primary School from years 5 to 7 and 510 students in the Secondary School from years 8 to 12. St Mary's College is an educational community fostering Christian Living in the Catholic tradition. We offer a wide range of academic and vocational subjects. We cater for the individual boy and our emphasis is on achieving one's potential in all areas of holistic education – Academic, Spiritual, Sport, Culture and Social Interaction. The College has a House System providing pastoral care for all students. Mentor teachers meet with students each morning and afternoon to guide and encourage in a supportive environment. Our aim is to form character in a compassionate, respectful, accepting and happy environment as we strive to develop relationships through a celebration of our lives together and a commitment to reconciliation. The College motto 'Conanti Corona' ('The crown goes to the one who tries'), is foundational to life at the College and so we value participation and effort above achievement, sportsmanship above winning, and service rather than personal gratification. The school vision 'To Support...To Strive Together....To Succeed' is developed from this motto and provides the platform for examining all of life and learning at St Mary's.
