Stawell West Primary is a community school for students from Prep to Year Six. Modern, innovative, open-plan learning centres are a feature of the school. Facilities enhancing the schools teaching program include a library, specialist science, art and performing arts centre. Innovative teaching programs such as the RACV Energy Breakthrough, Economics Project, Solar Boat Challenge and Sustainable Stawell West, lend themselves to the open-plan learning environment.
