Aberfeldie primary school is a prep-6 school located in a residential area of Essendon. We are part of the Western Metropolitan Region (WMR) and the Moonee Valley network. We are committed to providing a safe and dynamic learning environment that engages students to achieve their personal best and become resilient,compassionate and adaptable members of our diverse community. This school has 28.1 equivalent full time staff: 2 principal class members , 18.5 teachers and 7.6 education support staff. We aim to provide a seamless 7 year comprehensive learning experience for our students. This is the second year of our school’s strategic plan. The school has made steady progress towards our goals and targets with a strong focus on continuous improvement, high expectations and unity of purpose in all aspects of our teaching and learning programs. In 2010 we consolidated our whole school approach to literacy and numeracy with years P-6 action plans developed and aligned with WMR Blueprint. Through structured professional learning teams, the input from the regional literacy coach and school-based literacy and numeracy coaches and teams of teachers attending professional development, teachers' skills, capacity and professional interactions have continued to strengthen.
