Lockington Consolidated School is a P-6 rural school offering a comprehensive education across all learning areas to our 128 students. Our school has a strong comittment to achieving high academic results and this is reflected in the quality teaching and learning programs offered to all students. We operate classes from Prep to Year 6; there are full-time teachers in years 1-6 and in prep we have two part time teachers at 0.6 each. With Music (0.4), Art (0.6) and a fulltime Reading Recovery/Literacy Coach our staff allocation, including the principal, is 10.2. We have a bursar (1.0) and two part time integration staff (0.25 each). We ensure students become literate and numerate in order to fully function in the future workforce and society. We provide the opportunity for students to develop and extend their cultural, artistic and sporting achievements. We believe that all children have the right to learn and develop to their full potential. The school is an extension of the community and school life should be challenging, enjoyable and personally successful. We believe all children have the right to a caring and safe environment.We are currently developing our ICT environment to provide a dual platform of Windows and Apple computers. We aim to provide our students with a wide range of applications applicable to 21st Century learning. With the full implementation of the Ultranet in 2011, the link between school, home and students learning at Lockington Consolidated will continue to offer our community greater access and partnerships in rural education.
