Benalla Primary has an enrolment of 280, with 23.12 equivalent fulltime staff: 2 Principal class, 15 teachers & 5.12 Education Support Staff. Our vision is to provide a vibrant, dynamic learning community that provides structured, stimulating learning opportunities to enable all students to reach their potential. We seek to action the DEECD slogan - 'Every Child, Every Opportunity’ and continue to go from strength to strength, with increasing enrolments and decreasing issues of non attendance & student absenteeism. With a committed and enthusiastic staff, we set high expectations for students' behaviour and academic achievement & take great pride in our positive culture. Literacy and Numeracy are the core curriculum areas, with student learning outcomes continuing a very pleasing upward trend. We are a KidsMatter school with a strong focus on positive character development &students are explicitly taught the attitudes & values that are vital for their wellbeing & success through You Can Do It Education & the 9 Values for Australian Schooling. There is a smooth transition from pre-school to preps & from primary to secondary school with a number of strong support strategies & programs in place with local pre-schools & Benalla College. The inclusive culture of our school ensures that all students are valued as important members of our school family, with 15 students participating in the Program for Students with a Disability. Our staff reflect a dynamic mix of experienced & graduate teachers who all share a strong commitment to the education of our children.
