Stawell Primary School is located in the centre of the Rural City of Stawell. Current enrolments stand at 340, with students drawn from the city and surrounding districts. Stawell Primary School strives to provide a quality education for students which will enable them to become effective members of the global community, and to achieve their personal best in an increasingly dynamic and complex world. All practices reflect the school's core values of respect, honesty, compassion, optimism and commitment. The school provides a comprehensive VELS-based curriculum, with a particular focus on English, Mathematics, ICT, the Thinking Curriculum and Student Well-being. Specialist teachers provide programs in Performing and Visual Arts, Physical Education and LOTE German. To support these curriculum areas many enrichment programs are provided, including swimming, Stadium Sport, Bike Education, camps and excursions, interschool sport, Choir, Chess Club, cultural performances, Circus Club, private instrumental music lessons and student leadership programs. Stawell Primary School will commence a year of review in 2012, leading to the development of a new 4-year Strategic Plan.
