The Karratha SHS motto 'Towards Tomorrow' embraces the nurturing of responsible and caring individuals while preparing them for success in a changing world. Karratha SHS begins a significant change process in 2010 as it moves to a dual campus situation, with the senior school students being located at the Karratha Education and Learning Precinct. This will provide greater access to Pilbara TAFE. The completion of the lower school buildings, planned for 2013, will complete the transition to a 21st century learning environment. Karratha is developing as the major centre in the Pilbara region with the commencement of many projects, resulting in population growth that will impact on the future growth of the school. Key initiatives include: Extensive range of WACE courses, VET programs and an Aboriginal School Based Traineeship program Significant academic extension programs supported through the North West Shelf Venture A Clontarf Football Academy program An Inclusive Learning Unit for Education Support A partnership with industry and the Polly Farmer Foundation, providing support for aspiring Aboriginal students through the Gumula Mirnuwarni Aboriginal Education Project
