Drysdale Primary School has strong foundations and traditions in teaching and learning which provide an excellent basis for improvement and innovation. Opening in 1875 as a small rural school on the Bellarine Peninusula our school has grown with it's community, providing life long learning opportunities for all students. In 2010 our student population reached 507 with growth expected to increase to 532 in 2011. High quality classroom programs with a clear commitment to student achievement in English and Mathematics is complemented and supported by excellent specialist programs in Music, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education and Art. This is enabled via a staffing profile of 35.2 equivalent full time staff comprising of 2 Principal Class, 28.2 teachers and 5 Education Support Staff. In June 2010 our BER project was completed and provided our school with 6 classrooms, 2 large community spaces, meeting rooms and staff planning areas. This building has complemented our existing buildings and has blended well into our school environment. We are now waiting on the completion of covered walkways and replacement of playground equipment to fully enjoy this new addition to our school. We take pride in our commitment to the provision of a school environment that is safe, caring and sensitive to students with changing needs. We aim to enable students with disabilites and impairments the opportunity to participate in all areas of school life.
