At Pakenham Consolidated School we have built a culture where sustainable and measurable change to improve student learning outcomes is the focus. We aim to create a learning community where children become confident and socially skilled, who are literate and numerate and have a sense of connection to their world. Teachers, parents and students share a joint responsibility to achieve these aims as stakeholders in achieving a successful learning community. The role of the teaching team is to facilitate a comprehensive range of exemplary learning programs within a safe supportive learning environment. The focus for our school throughout 2011 is continuous improvement and achieving excellence in teaching and learning at every level. The current staffing profile comprises of 65 personnel including 31 equivalent full-time teaching staff: 2 Principal class, 3 Leading Teachers, 7 part time teaching staff and 19 Education Support Staff. 2011 will see the opening of our Multi - Sensory room for our PSD students who make up 6% of our school population. This will include things that they can feel, see, hear, smell and taste such as music and aromas, It also allows individuals to have a positive effect on the environment around them and not feel distracted and agitated during their school experience.
