Christ Our Holy Redeemer is small Catholic primary school in East Oakleigh, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The school has been a strong focus in the local community for just over 50 years. Christ Our Holy Redeemer is a school rich in diversity, which prides itself on developing the individual student and promoting Catholic values. We have students on all levels of the ability continuum and it is this diversity that facilitates the growth of an accepting and compassionate community. Acceptance is very clearly a concept that extends beyond the boundaries of education; it is a belief that celebrates diversity and recognises difference in us all. Our learning and teaching philosophy is based on the Inquiry Model where our students, along with staff, are encouraged to think more deeply by asking questions, sorting information, discovering answers, and taking action with the new information learnt. Student wellbeing is the core of our values and programs, achieving this through developing and supporting the whole child by offering music, physical education, sport, ICT, Italian, Bounce Back, Reading Recovery, literacy and numeracy intervention and Library.
