Our purpose is to engage students in challenging learning experiences and to develop in them a sense of belonging and a belief in achieving personal best to enable them to embrace their future as optimistic, contributing members of their local and global community. To achieve our core purpose the following values underpin all that we do within the entire school community: Respect and Co-operation, Celebrating Our Efforts, Responsibility and Integrity, Caring and Supporting and Doing Our Best. Our school is located in a socially diverse community. Our current enrolment of 474 is likely to increase. We currently cater for 21 children under the program for Students with Disabilities and offer programs both within and outside of the classroom to cater for children's talents, interests and strengths.Teaching teams work together at all levels to plan and deliver a rich and vibrant curriculum that caters for the needs of all students with VELS at its heart. Specialist programs are offered in the areas of Visual Arts, Peforming Arts, Physical Education, ICT and Library. A new Visual Arts room was opened early in 2010 and a new open learning area with for senior students was opened at the end of 2010. We offer our students a safe, secure, stimulating and technologically rich learning environment. All students have access to interactive whiteboards and up to date computers within their classrooms. Our school is set in attractive gardens with well designed and varied play areas. The entire school is air conditioned, newly painted and carpeted providing a pleasant physical environment.
