St Patrick’s School is a K-6 Catholic School in the Bathurst Diocese. The school is situated in Lithgow, a mining town west of Sydney. St Patrick’s was established in 1880 by the Sisters of St Joseph and our motto is “Charity and Truth”. Religious Education is given top priority at St Patrick’s School. Literacy and Numeracy are highlighted, with all students encouraged to work to the best of their ability. We believe in inclusive education and extra support is given by a specialist teacher and eight teachers’ aides who work in conjunction with classroom teachers, parents and outside agencies such as Lithgow Community Health. Music and Indonesian are taught by specialist teachers and students have the opportunity to participate in Eisteddfods, School Band, Choir and musical productions. Private music lessons are provided by the Conservatorium. PDHPE is also important with students participating in Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, hockey, cricket, rugby, soccer and basketball. The charism of Mary MacKillop, who began the Josephite Sisters, permeates each day as we try to live our Mission Statement of “Never see a need without trying to do something about it.”<
