Craigieburn South Primary School is situated in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in the City of Hume, approximately 25 kilometres from Melbourne. The school, which opened in 1986, is on a site shared with Craigieburn Secondary College and the two schools share many aspects of their infrastructure. At Craigieburn South Primary School we provide quality education programs which encourage and support everyone to do their best. We do this by offering learning programs that respect individual differences; are challenging and interesting; and develop life long learning skills. Our school values incorporate Respect, Honesty and Trust, Tolerance, Cooperation and Personal Excellence. Craigieburn South Primary School offers a comprehensive curriculum based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. While our emphasis is on Literacy and Numeracy, we offer a wide range of enrichment and support programs including Reading Intervention, Extension Program for high achievers and Enrichment Program for students requiring extra assistance, comprehensive swimming program for prep to grade four students, camps, excursions and choir. The school has 48.9 equivalent full time staff, three Pincipal class, 31 teachers and 8.2 Education Support Staff. In 2010 our school underwent a Building Education Revolution (BER) program resulting in a Multipurpose facitility which includes a full size gynmasium, two classrooms and a teacher centre.
