Noranda Primary School is a vibrant learning environment for students from 4-12 years of age. The school prides itself on the solid foundation it provides for students through a rich student -centred learning environment, sound teaching and learning programs and a strong pastoral care program. The student population is becoming increasingly diverse with 23 different language backgrounds represented in the school community. The school is set on a large site set amongst the extensive natural bush reserve that adjoins the school. This wonderful natural asset forms the basis of many classroom and school programs including Bush Wardens. The school has won many awards for its environmental work and is the only school in Australia that is registered as a power station with 2 photovoltaic arrays in the grounds. Areas of special focus include Information and Communication Technology, Mandarin and Music. Music has been an area of specialty over several years and our school choir has been highly successful in a range of eisteddfods and public performances. Noranda Primary School enjoys a high level of support through the proactive School Council and the Parents and Citizens Organisation.
