Located in the rapidly growing southern suburb of Success, within the City of Cockburn, Success Primary School opened for the commencement of the 2009 school year. The school currently accommodates 550+ students from Kindergarten to Year 6. It also caters for 85+ students with high needs. The Kim Beazley School in White Gum Valley closed at the end of 2008 and many families relocated and commenced the school year at Success in 2009. Primary aged students relocated to a purpose built Hub, ECE facility and Inclusive Classrooms attached to each learning community within Success Primary School. Jandakot ESC also relocated to Success Primary School in 2009. Success Primary School is a 'one school' model including both mainstream and Education Support students within the setting. The eligibility criteria for Education Support is the same as all other education support facilities in Western Australia. It is a unique 'one of a kind' primary school, being the only school that presently exists operating as this model in Western Australia. School facilities include 13 classrooms with some designed for Education Support purposes, a music room, library, a specialist arts and crafts room, hard courts, a covered assembly area, dental clinic and a canteen. A dedicated learning community for students with special needs is also a feature of the school. It includes three teaching areas opening out to a secured play area, a hydrotherapy pool and therapy gymnasium, sensory room, full time nurse, conference room, liberty swing area, covered bus collection point, office space to accommodate staff and inter-agencies and an early childhood facility. The school has been specially designed to allow wheelchair access to all parts of the school. The school has modern information technology infrastructure and each classroom is fitted with an interactive whiteboard which is used as a teaching and learning tool.
