Star of the Sea Primary School is a Catholic co-educational school comprising of 690 students from Pre Kindergarten (3 year olds) to Year 6. The school is situated in the centre of Rockingham giving easy access to the surrounding suburbs. The school operates a 3 year old program as well as a part-time and full-time Kindergarten, offering parents the choice of a two-day to five-day program. Out of school care is also available. The school provides a friendly and caring environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. A broad curriculum is offered including Information Communication Technology, Japanese, Sport, Music (including an Instrumental Program), a Literacy Support Program and an Extension Program. The school has a well equipped computer lab, interactive whiteboards, excellent playground facilities and oval. The school has a strong emphasis on the teaching of Religion and places high priority on the pastoral care of students which is based on Gospel values. Star of the Sea is a KidsMatter school which is a primary school mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention initiative. The implementation of this program combined with the services of a school social worker reflects the school's focus on student well being.
