Atwell Primary School is a relatively new school (opened in 1998) with facilities of a high standard. We have three permanent teaching blocks, pre-primary house, purpose built art and music rooms, library, undercover assembly area and a soon to be built multipurpose hall. Since opening, the school has grown from 345 (K-7) students to our current enrolment of about 900 (K-6) students. This has necessitated the addition of transportable rooms and an off site kindergarten. All areas of the school are linked allowing network access for all staff and students. We have a regular organisational structure in the school. Most classes are of a single year group but there are some split grades. Where possible, teachers work with their students for two years. The looping model has been very successful and has been endorsed by parents and teachers. The school aims to provide opportunities for children to develop their intellectual, physical, social, cultural and emotional skills. Every effort is made to allow this to take a place in a warm and caring environment. After school enrichment programs are offered to students during the year which can include performing arts, golf, cooking and ICT.
