The Albury Wodonga Community College opened its doors in January 2006 offering an alternative to mainstream education. The core values of the school are that we believe that learning is intrinsically valuable and that it empowers the individual; promotes growth of the individual; provides opportunities and choice; improves quality of life, and advances citizenship in our community. The school achieves its mission, 'to respond to the learning needs of the Albury Wodonga regional community in a positive manner', by offering students a range of educational pathways within an alternative context, and through the provision of strong educational and welfare support. Some unique features of the school are location (we are located within a village of learning); we are committed to small class sizes and strong welfare support; our curriculum is designed with an applied learning focus and we are a vessel for re-engagement of youth who do not 'fit' into mainstream education. The school plays an important role in the community by participating in community events and working with industry to provide work experience and mentoring. In 2010 we opened our second School campus in Albury NSW further widening our support to students in our regional area.
