Hagley Farm School is located 28kms west of Launceston. Our school has three parts: 1) A Primary School of 450 children; 2) A commercial farm on 75Ha 3); An Environment Centre based around the farm visited by 4000 children each year. Hagley is a complex operation employing over 50 people. The school is 155 years old and deeply embedded in its Northern Midlands community. Our school goals have remained the same for many years: 1) Educate children to become good citizens; 2) Teamwork; 3) A wide and broad child centred curriculum; 4) Good presentation; 5) Physical fitness; 6) Leadership development. Parents are valued and participate in the life of the school and its governance. We receive very little Federal recurrent funding. The school has great pride in its families, its children and its staff. Teachers at our school work hard and have a strong commitment to the educational and general welfare of our children. We are proud of the fitness of our children and their high levels of physical well being. The school gives priority to our youngest children. We have an Assistant Principal with special responsibility for the pre-Kindergarten to Grade 2 area. We are always pleased to welcome visitors to our school and give them a chance to see the work being done.
