Rugby Public School is a small isolated school in south-west NSW, serving children from rural backgrounds. The small size of the school is one of its greatest assets as it encourages a close bond between home and school, as well as between staff and students, which allows for a family atmosphere within the school itself. Rugby Public School was established in 1887 and proudly continues to serve the community. The school provides an individualised education to children across the Kindergarten to Year 6 grades, with a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of each particular child. The school is committed to the development of positive self esteem and self discipline. It is very welfare conscious with regard to the children, staff, parents and the broader community. Rugby Public School is committed to helping all children achieve to their full potential, through the development of individualised learning plans. Rugby Public School seeks to meet the individual educational needs of all students as well as providing social and cultural experiences to overcome the isolation that can exist when living in a small rural community. In seeking to meet these needs a positive relationship has been forged with neighbouring schools with similar circumstances, allowing students to interact and develop strong peer friendship and support networks. The fantastic technology available at Rugby Public School provides students with the opportunity to interact online with others from across the world, and online lessons with other schools are regularly held. The school plays an important role in the community through bringing people together, utilising facilities and resources, and celebrating achievements.
